Sodium Silicate equipment

Sodium silicate,also known as water glass, is widely used in different industries. There are two kinds of production method: dry method and wet method: 

Dry method :  Put sodium carbonate and quartz sand into solid sodium silicate furnace, the molar ratio is usually higher than 3.3 (SiO2 / NaO),and it is one of the most popular ways of production, and the solid sodium silicate will be easy for transportation,  but there will be a high energy consumption, complex device, large investment, and will lead to environmental problems.

Wet method is to use quartz sand and liquid caustic soda with high pressure. Modulus is less than 2.8(but now it will be suitable for higher molar ratio), suitable for use in production of silicon layer, partial silicon, etc. It will be low energy consumption, product is liquid, need to form a complete set of boiler, manufacturers are rare.

Compared to dry method production, wet method is very simple, small user has regional advantages, material modulus is lower, the better, heating alkaline water transferred film.

1. Water glass reaction kettle:

This equipment is the main equipment for the production of sodium silicate, the use of a certain temperature (160-170 ℃) and pressure (6-10 kg/cm2) of material (usually in the form of quartz sand and aqueous solution of caustic soda or soda ash) react to generate sodium silicate products. Equipment is divided into fixed vertical and rotary reactor horizontal reaction kettle. Products are 6 kinds of specifications, volume is:

3 M3, 5 M3, 6 M3, 8 M3, 10 M3, 12 M3, 14 M3, 15 M3, 16 M3, 18 M3, 20 M3

2. The drum of sodium silicate solution:

The device is to use a certain temperature and pressure to make the material (usually in the form of solid sodium silicate and water) to produce dissolving reaction to generate sodium silicate solution. Equipment is divided into steam heating and heat conduction oil heating type two kinds, steam heating type temperature 150 ℃ to 160 ℃, use 0.5 0.6 MPa pressure steam, thermal oil temperature 180 ℃ to 200 ℃. Products are 6 kinds of specifications, the volume is: 3 M3, 5 M3, 6 M3, 8 M3, 10 M3, 12 M3, 14 M3, 15 M3, 16 M3 18 M3, 20 M3,

Heat conduction oil type because of its low efficiency, high energy consumption, has been gradually withdraw from the market. The most used at present, the most energy-efficient is on both sides with shaft structure, heat source, using the new type of steam drum.
